Account Hacks: March 2016

On March 2, 2016 I received an email from Mojang stating that my account had been 'compromised' and my password automatically reset. I have since inquired Mojang Customer Support about the nature of this attack, and I am waiting to hear back whether or not my password was successfully discovered or simply a target in a larger brute-force attack.

I have not yet gotten a reply from Mojang, as their Customer Support page states:
We have a backlog and are currently replying to cases received on March 2. Thank you for being patient and we’ll reply to you as soon as possible.
From this we can assume that many accounts were reset on the 2nd of March, possibly as part of a large-scale attempt at several thousand accounts. I'll post here any further information I can find out about this incident.

In the meantime, if you have received a similar email, I suggest you all find new passwords for your Minecraft account as well as any other online sites that may share the password you previously used.

it was hacked because the same day people were trying to hack into my blizzard account but thanks to 2 step authentication they didnt get that account

I blame Microsoft for not doing there job and upgrading system security once they obtained mojang beingmthe second largest tech company next to alphabet aka Google
